Paramount Motors Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of MG Motor in Nepal, has announced the upcoming launch of the all-new MG U9 EV, marking the brand’s entry into the premium electric pickup segment.
Positioned as a high-performance electric lifestyle truck, the MG U9 EV will be offered in two variants: Luxury and Flagship, combining strong performance credentials with advanced technology and comfort-focused features.
The U9 EV uses a dual-motor setup with Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors, producing a combined 325 kW—split between 125 kW at the front and 200 kW at the rear. The system generates 700 Nm of torque (250 Nm front / 450 Nm rear), enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 190 km/h.

Engineered for versatility, the pickup comes equipped with air suspension, a double wishbone front suspension, and a multi-link rear suspension. It also features an advanced All-Terrain System (ATS) with multiple drive modes—Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Tow, Off-Road, and Custom—tailored to our diverse driving conditions.
Powering the U9 EV is a 102.2 kWh LFP battery pack, offering a claimed range of up to 430 km (WLTP). The vehicle supports DC fast charging, enabling a 20% to 80% charge in approximately 42 minutes. It also features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability of up to 6.6 kW, along with multiple 2.2 kW interior outlets, effectively functioning as a mobile power source.

Inside, the U9 EV focuses on comfort and technology, featuring a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and an 8-speaker JBL audio system. Premium elements include leather upholstery, a heated microfibre leather steering wheel, and 64-color ambient lighting.
The Flagship variant further adds an 8-way electronically adjustable driver’s seat with ventilation, massage, and memory functions. With a 3300 mm wheelbase, the pickup offers generous cabin space, alongside a 685 kg payload capacity and a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity.

Safety features include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), and Blind Spot Detection (BSD), along with a 360-degree HD camera and front and rear parking sensors.
The MG U9 EV is, in essence, a rebadged and slightly restyled version of the Maxus eTerron 9, which is already available in Nepal.
Both models are developed under SAIC Motor, MG’s parent company, and share the same platform, drivetrain, and core engineering. However, they differ in interior trims and feature packaging, with MG positioning the U9 as a more lifestyle-oriented alternative.
